It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jacquelin Benton (Matthews, North Carolina), who passed away on September 25, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry E. Smith Sr. and Marion Derrick Smith. She is survived by: her siblings, William Smith, Henry E. Smith Jr., Helen E. Parks and Ronald Smith of Columbia, SC.; her husband Billy Benton; her children, Stewart Michael Benton Sr. (Cathy) of Walterboro, SC and Shari Benton Smith (Bill) of Waxhaw, NC.; her grandchildren, Sarah Elisabeth Benton of Raleigh, NC, Ashley Smith Speight (Chris) of Waxhaw, NC and Dr. Stewart Michael Benton Jr. (Grace) of York, PA.; and her great grandchild William Callahan Speight of Waxhaw, NC. She is also survived by family and caring neighbors.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude's Childrens' Hospital.
