He is survived by: his wife Sandra; his sons, Shelton Jr. of Jefferson and Mark of Linville; his grandchildren, Myra of Memphis, TN, Zachary of Philadelphia, PA, Jessica Courtney of Sanford, FL, Michelle, Sarah Smithey of Mountain City, TN and Denver of Kannapolis, NC; and his great grandchildren, Skylar, Landen and Brookes Courtney of Sorrento, FL..
