She was predeceased by: her parent Beryl Simmons. She is survived by: her husband Cyril Layne; her sons, Karl Layne of Bowie Maryland and Rudy Layne (Robin) of Grayson, Georgia; her grandchildren, Kayla, Kiana, Najah and Nya; and her great grandchild Nevaeh.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the St Michael Anglican Church (2211 Margaret Wallace Rd, Matthews, NC 28105).
