He was predeceased by: his mother Ann Clairmont Moynihan. He is survived by: his father John Moynihan; his wife Janet "Jan" Niebauer Moynihan; his children, Ryan Moynihan (Heather), Mark Moynihan and Timothy Moynihan (Courtney); his grandchildren, Emmalyn, Daniel, Landon and Jack; and his siblings, Patrick (Denise), Kevin (Miriam), Sharon Cinney (John), Judy Yon (Kirk) and David.
In honor of his memory, donations can be made to Matthews United Methodist Church or the National Parkinson's Foundation in lieu of flowers.
