He is survived by: his wife Carolyn McCoy; his son Michael McCoy of Monroe, NC; and his grandsons, Connor McCoy of Indian Trail, NC and Nate McCoy (Savannah Wrenn) of Indian Trail, NC. He is also survived by five brothers; two sisters; numerous nieces and nephews.
