He is survived by: his parents, Francis Layton of Campbells Creek and Clifford Layton of Campbells Creek; his siblings, Jean Smith, Wanda Evans and Grover Layton; his grandchildren, Carrie Layton and Jeffrey Layton; his wife Linda "Lin" Layton; his sons, Jeffrey Layton (Crystal) of Campbells Creek and Eugene Layton (Nicole) of Matthews, NC; and his sister Camella K. Blount of Campbells Creek. He is also survived by one grandson; four granddaughters; four great-grandchildren.
