He was predeceased by: his parents, Earl Lanier and Anna Poindexter Lanier. He is survived by: his wife Aletha Teague Lanier; his children, Lynn Lanier of Aberdeen and Rick Lanier (Karen) of Indian Trail; his grandchildren, Katelyn Cole (Spencer), Seth Agee, Cassie Agee, Sarah Lanier and Andrew Lanier (Sarah); his great grandchildren, Olivia and Haley Cole; and his sister Libby Long of Burlington.
