He was predeceased by: his parents, Jacob Henderson Austin and Emma Austin; and his wife Doris Jean Austin. He is survived by: his daughter Christina Wynne McDermott (Edward) of Stanfield, NC; his sister Nadine Hicks; and his grandchildren, Anna Vandergrift, Melissa Huneycutt, Jessica Gallaher, Billy McDermott, Eddie McDermott, David McDermott and Carrie McDermott. He is also survived by 7 great-grandchildren; as well as 1 great-great grandchild.
