It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Samuel Wesley Maxwell (Marshall, North Carolina), who passed away on July 27, 2022, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Charlie Toms Maxwell and Viola Capps Maxwell; and his siblings, Cecil, Kenneth, Faye Honeycutt and Sylvia Maxwell.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Jo Reid Maxwell; his daughters, Pam Randolph (Ivan) of Abbeville, SC and Sherri Payne (Monty) of Marshall, NC; his grandchildren, Nathan Henderson (Dana) of Greeneville, TN, Kristin Patton (Austin) of Fletcher, NC and Amber Payne of Marshall, NC; his stepgrandson Brandon Payne of Durham, NC; his great grandchildren, Harper and Haven Patton; and his siblings, Gerald (Earnestine) of Mars Hill, NC, Barbara Ray of Weaverville, NC and Phyllis Stevens (Floyd) of Weaverville, NC. He is also survived by his nieces and nephews.
