He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Shelton and Mamie Lee Johnson Shelton; and his siblings, Guy V Shelton, Robert Shelton, Shirley Jones and Flodia Burke.
He is survived by: his pet Baby; his brother Everett Shelton of Leicester, NC; and his sons, Daniel Lee Shelton, Jason Shelton and Steven Shelton of Morganton, NC. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and many extended family.
