She was predeceased by: her parents, James Fisher and Lela Fisher of Madison County; her sister Patrica Fusco; and her sister-in-law Brenda Fisher. She is survived by: her nieces, Jennifer Caldwell, Melissa Gosnell and Cathy Burkhart; her husband Lee James Burkhart of Pittsburgh; her daughter Lisa McAbee (Dustin); her grandchildren, Jake, Eli, Isaiah and Adah; and her siblings, Janie Sutton (Gary), Clara Ramsey (Kenny), Bess Fisher, Albert Fisher and Michael Fisher (Robin). She is also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews.
Gail was an avid member of her church choir at St. Eugene Catholic Church, sang with the Asheville Choral Society, volunteered for the Make-a-Wish Foundation, and was a member of a Post-Polio Syndrome support group in Asheville.
