He was predeceased by: his parents, Cornel Hylton and Cellia Burrell Hylton; his wife Wilma Hylton (Hamlin); and his sisters, Ellie Brown, Maude Woody, Ruby Roberts and Annie Metcalf.

He is survived by: his daughters, Roxanne English (Eldridge) and Janie Silvers (Keith); his sisters, Viola Rice (Carmen), Berla Cox (Gary) and Ruth Edwards; his grandchildren, Clint English (Heather), Brooke English, Brandon Silvers (Taru), Thomas Silvers (Ashley) and Leah Silvers; his great grandchildren, Kason Silvers and Parker Braxton; and his close friend Judy Crowder. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
