He was predeceased by : his parents, Luther Huel Fox and Katie Carter Fox; his former life partner Carolyn Adams Fox; and his siblings, Martha Cudd, Teddy and Arnold Fox.

He is survived by : his wife Martha Fox; his daughters, Kathy Behtz (Thom) and Carol Fox (Jennifer); his stepson Michael Briggs (Jennie Ann); his grandchildren, Emily Ann Behtz and Erin Elizabeth Behtz; and his stepgrandchildren, Sarah Grace Phillips (Blake), Weldon Davis Briggs and Wesley Parker Briggs.

Visitation was held on Friday, June 14th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Madison Funeral Services (1750 NC-213, Marshall, NC 28753). A funeral service was held on Friday, June 14th 2024 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
