With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Harry Ditmore Payne (Marshall, North Carolina), who passed away on September 7, 2021 at the age of 93. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Bernie Payne and Annie Payne of Walnut; his brothers, Aubrey (Alma Payne) of Lincoln, Howell (June Payne) of Allen Park and Clyde (Dorothy Payne) of Charlotte, NC; his nephew David Payne of Allen Park; and his brother-in-law Andrew J. Walkowski of Pinconning, Michigan..
He is survived by: his friends, Randy Fowler, Robert and Leo Blackwell; his cousin Becky; his sister Virginia Walkowski of Pinconning; and his nieces and nephews, Michael Walkowski of Clarkston, Dan Payne of Southgate, Pam Bennett of Baton Rouge, Gayle Thackston of Atlanta, Georgia and Donna Wheatley of Brooklyn. He is also survived by spouses, children, and grandchildren.
A graveside service will follow at 2:30 pm in the Bowman Rector Cemetery with Pastor Jimmy Dean Hensley officiating and military honors conducted. *Per family request, face masks are required at the visitation and optional at graveside.*.
