She was predeceased by: her parents, Ueal Gosnell and Dolly Letterman Gosnell; her husband Harvey Eugene Rice; and her siblings, Madge Burrell, Carolyn Fish, Rodger, Cletus and Bud Gosnell.

She is survived by: her children, Cynthia "Cindy" Fox (Ricky) of Marshall, Brian Allen Rice of Marshall and Edward Eugene Rice (Lynn) of Mars Hill; her adoptive daughter Donna Rice Wallin (Danny) of Marshall; her grandchildren, Bradley Fox (Kendall) of Salem, VA, Travis Fox (Amanda) of Waynesville, Destiny Michelle Rice of Marshall and Jessie Zieger (Luke) of Hot Springs; her great grandchildren, Lennon Peige and Norah Grace Fox of Salem, VA; and her pet Max. She is also survived by her children, grandchildren, and being Gran-Gran to her great grandkids.

Visitation was held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Robbie Capps Memorial Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral and Cremation Service (7626 NC-213, Mars Hill, NC 28754). A funeral service was held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Saturday, February 22nd 2025 at the Rice Family Cemetery.
