He is survived by: his wife Dorthy Cantrell Ray; his sons, Clinton Lee Ray (Sandra) and Fredrick Kimp Franklin (Kylie); his grandchildren, Lee Franklin (Lezlie), Matthew Franklin, Kaitlyn Sams Shuford (Adam), Cassi Ray and Jenny Spadlin; his great grandchild Kinzleigh Green; and his siblings, Doyle Tipton, Brown Ray (Virginia May), Phil Ray (Jenny) and Jane Ray Pate (Bill). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A burial was held on Saturday, April 5th 2025 at 3:00 PM at the Cantrell Family Cemetery (171 Rock Branch Rd, Marshall, NC 28753).
