It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Douglas MacArthur Thomas (Marshall, North Carolina), who passed away on December 13, 2022, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Arvilee Thomas and Pansy Thomas; his siblings, Betty Lou Norton (Woodrow), Norma Hayes, Shirley Brown (Ray) and Calvin Hal Thomas (Brenda); and his brothers-in-law, Charlie Brown and Kenneth Waldroup.
He is survived by: his wife Mary Ann; his children, Jerry Sams (Joy), Tammy Parker (Allen), Jeff D. Thomas (Stacy), Tina Nguyen (Ha) and Lisa Thomas Shepherd (Blanton); his sisters, Barbara Waldroup, Lucy Brown, Paula Tregoning (Keith) and Susie Frisbee (Stevie); his brother-in-law Jim Hayes; his pet Buster; and his close friends, James Binkley and Courtney Snow. He is also survived by 15 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and close friends.
