It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Velma Violet Chandler (Mars Hill, North Carolina), who passed away on May 2, 2024, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her father Erlin Franklin (Buck); her husband Roy D. Chandler; and her mother Rosie Norton (Franklin). She is survived by: her children, Michael Chandler of Mars Hill, Heather C. West "Carrie" (Walter Doyle) of Spindale, NC and Nicholas Chandler "Rooster" of Mars Hill; her grandson Cameron J. West of Spindale, NC; and her siblings, Shirley Gibson of Greenville, TN, Jean Chandler (Lanny) of Mars Hill, Nora Etta Chandler of Mars Hill and Wiliam Franklin (Linda) of Burnsville, NC. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
She loved being active in groups and charity work when she was younger.
