He was predeceased by: his parents, John Quincey and Gertrude Edwards Ball; and his siblings, Elizabeth Large, Mildred Cruz, Joe Ball, John Quincy Ball, Jr., Beige Ball (Bud) and James Ball (Jim).
He is survived by: his wife Fay Jacobs Ball; his children, Kaylen Ball of Morristown, Tennessee and Daniel Ball of Mars Hill; his grandchildren, Brandon Banks of Asheville, Tyler Banks of Asheville, Ethan Ball of Asheville and Georgina Amaya (Rafael Amaya); his great grandchild Landon Banks of Asheville; and his siblings-in-law, Evelyn Jacobs Meade, Donald Meade of Jonesborough, Tennessee, Kenneth Jacobs and Mary Ann Jacobs of Butler, Tennessee. He is also survived by several nephews and nieces.
