He is survived by: his wife Linda Yount Burleson; his children, Rhonda Burleson Melrose (Curly) and James Burleson; his siblings, Linda Savage (Lucian), Lillian Riddle (O'Neil), Shirley Searcy (Richard) and Isaac Burleson (Carolyn); and his grandchildren, Hannah Shelton (Christopher) and Devan Burleson. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
