She was predeceased by: her parents, Condry Alan and Orla Bailey English of Madison County; her husband Walter Raleigh Slagle; her former husband Harold Eaton; and her brothers, Jim English and Billy English.
She is survived by: her children, Aarny Slagle of Asheville and Susan Slagle of Asheville; her brothers, Lee English of Inman, SC and Raeford English of Mars Hill; and her grandchildren, Adam Payne of Etowah, Lindsay Payne Andrews of Canton and Maggie Slagle of Clyde. She is also survived by four great granddaughters.
