With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Erma Irene Harwood (Mars Hill, North Carolina), born in Madison, North Carolina, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on June 29, 2024 at the age of 79. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

In the sacred silence of farewell, Erma is released into the embrace of eternity, knowing that her light will continue to shine brightly in the tapestry of the lives of her loved ones. And as her memory is carried forward, may comfort be found in the knowledge that love is eternal, and that Erma's spirit lives on in the beauty that surrounds us.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Ernest Burleson and Athlene Robinson Burleson; her husband James "Jimmy" Harwood; and her brother Eddie Fox. She is survived by : her sons, Buddy Harwood and Eddie Harwood; her sister Paulette Davis; and her daughter Genia Peterson.

A graveside service was held on Tuesday, July 2nd 2024 at 10:00 AM at the Bradford Cemetery (30 Hummingbird Hl, Mars Hill, NC 28754).
