She is survived by: her parents, Phil Pickens and Melba Pickens of Weaverville; her son Andrew Helms; the parent of her child Dean Helms; her brother Phillip Pickens (Rebecca); and her close friends, Carol Swayngim and Rhonda Wilson.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Feed a Child Organization of which she was a supporter at 151 Laurel Heights, Burnsville, NC 28714.
