She was predeceased by: her husband James "Pete" Shelton; and her daughter Brenda Dills. She is survived by: her children, Nancy Bartlett (Dennis) of Marion, Robert "Buddy" Shelton of Rutherfordton and Tommy Shelton of Rutherfordton; and her siblings, Larry Shelton, Tom Shelton, Vernie Haire, Linda Franklin, Mary Lou Brooks and Thomas Hensley. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
