It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ernest Wayne Elkins of Marion, North Carolina, who passed away on March 24, 2025, at the age of 73, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Talmadge Elkins and Cora Fox Elkins; and his siblings, Roger Elkins, Vonda Owensby and Mary Thomas.

He is survived by: his wife Mildred Black Elkins; his son Kenny Elkins (Emily); his grandsons, Kaden Elkins and Kamden Elkins; and his siblings, Terry Elkins and Regina Hensley.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Turkey Cove Baptist Church, PO Box 3122, Marion, NC 28752.
