He was predeceased by: his parents, Albert Lamar Barksdale and Marguerite Johnson Barksdale. He is survived by: his wife Betty Garden Barksdale; his son Greg Barksdale (Gail); his siblings, Irvin Barksdale (Wilma) and Demaris McGuire (Joe); his brother-in-law Charles Garden (Sharon); and his granddaughters, Alexis Barksdale and Sarah Barksdale. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Story Memorial Presbyterian Church (174 Shady Ln, Marion, NC 28752). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 at the Spruce Pine City Cemetery.
