She was predeceased by: her parents, Ben Lawing and Annie Reel Lawing; and her husband Cecil Jenkins. She is survived by: her children, Jeff Jenkins (Mary), Angie Hall and Lori Poteat (Brian); her grandchildren, Alan Jenkins (Gladys), Kendall Holloway (Chris), Adam Hall and Gracie Poteat; her great grandchildren, Cecil Jenkins, Julianne Jenkins and Annie Holloway; her siblings, Barbara Nelson (Jerry), Jearline Flynn and Boyce Lawing (Joan); and her friend Loretta Eastus of Cleburne, Texas.. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Bethel Baptist Church (350 Bethel Church Rd, Marion, NC 28752). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 10th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to be made to the Solace Center in Asheville.
