With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Delmore J. Thigpen Sr. of Maple, North Carolina, born in Beulaville, North Carolina, who passed away on March 2, 2021. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his mother Rena Inez Jackson Thigpen; his former wife Every V. Thigpen; and his stepson Glenn Mapp. He is survived by: his wife Barbara Jean Thigpen; his children, D. J. Thigpen, Jr. (Barbara "Sissy"), David Thigpen (Christina), Jimmy Thigpen (Andrea) and Anita T. Sparkman (Bill); his stepchildren, Teresa Jones (Adrian), Debbie Hahn (Todd), Ammie Neal and Shawn Mapp (Linda); and his stepdaughter-in-law Kathy Mapp.
