He was predeceased by: his parent Mary B. McClenney Cannady; his former wives, Maggie Daniels Cannady and Emma Croswait Cannady; and his brother Daniel Lee Cannady, Jr.. He is survived by: his parent Daniel Cannady; his daughter Melodye Cannady-Callaway; his grandchildren, Lillie Callaway Leavel (Brandon) and William Thomas "Buddy" Callaway; his great grandchild William Chesley Leavel; his sister-in-law Harriett Cannady; his significant other Jean Griffin; and his stepchildren, Ada Hadley, Floyd Croswait, Tom Croswait (Louise), Donny Croswait, Bobby Croswait, Diane Croswait, Vanessa Foreman and Callie Russell.
