She was predeceased by: her husband Thomas Walter Barnes; and her stepfather Albert B. Scoggins. She is survived by: her children, Cynthia Jo Barnes of Manteo, NC, Brenda B. Savage (Matthew) of Holly Springs, NC and Jeffrey Barnes (Daniel Joy) of Raleigh, NC; her grandsons, Zackary and Brandon Savage; and her sister Jean McClees (Ray) of Columbia, NC..
