He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank McNary Collins and Dellerva E. Collins. He is survived by: his wife Tonya; his sons, Darius Collins (Tabitha) of Homestead, FL and Frank Collins (Kinza) of Manteo; his grandson Barkley Collins of Manteo; his sister Yolanda Collins-Wilson (Mike) of Manteo; his sister-in-law Teresa Thompson of Camden; and his cousin Joan Collins of Skyco. He is also survived by in-laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.
A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 4th 2025 at 10:00 AM and at 1:00 PM.
He was personally presented with "The Order of the Long Leaf Pine" from then Governor Mike Easley, the North Carolina's governors highest honor for persons who have made significant contributions to the state and their communities through their exemplary service and exceptional accomplishments.
