He is survived by: his children, Troy Dale Petty (Annah) of Manteo, NC, Wendy Petty Aboelmatty of Midlothian, VA, Robert Douglas Petty (Michelle) of Nags Head, NC and Barbara Thompson Wood of Wilmington, NC; his grandchildren, Bailey Petty, Adam Aboelmatty, Noah Aboelmatty, Kendelle Petty and Brodyn Petty; his sisters, Rae Lester of San Francisco, CA and Janet Walker (Norman) of Boca Raton, FL; his brothers-in-law, Duane Dement of Arlington, TX and Jack Ray of Corpus Christi, TX; and his wife Barbara. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
