She was predeceased by: her parents, Richard Duke Buchan, Sr. and Catherine Mangum Buchan; her husband Charles Perry Ellington, Jr.; and her brother Richard Duke "Scooter" Buchan, Jr.. She is survived by: her sons, Charles Perry Ellington, III of Raleigh, Richard Mark Ellington (Lynne) of Wilmington and Alan Nicholas Ellington (Joy) of Holly Springs; her sisters, Shirley B. Blanks of Raleigh and Diane B. Grissom of Henderson; her sister-in-law Betty Jo Buchan of Henderson; her grandchildren, Taylor Ellington Miron, Brandon Ellington, Jessica Ellington, Ashley Ellington and Noah Ellington; and her great grandchild Brooks Miron.
Due to COVID 19 regulations those attending are asked to wear appropriate face coverings and practice social distancing.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Brookston Presbyterian Church Building Fund, c/o Alma Dillard, 1546 Brookston Road, Henderson, NC 27537 or the Maria Parham Health Oncology Department to provide care for cancer patients, 566 Ruin Creek Road, Henderson, NC 27536.
