He was predeceased by: his parents, William Andrew Wood and Minnie Lee Cooper Wood; his wife Zola Edwina Wood; his son Michael Wood; and his grandson Mark Joseph Underwood.
He is survived by: his children, Wendell Wood (Cassy) and Chris Wood (Toni); his daughter-in-law Sherry; his friend Jean Bartlett; and his grandchildren, Wesley, Mark Anthony, Adam, Brandy, Christopher, Joseph, Benjamin, Tracy and T. J.. He is also survived by ten great grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to Vance County Animal Services or a Charity of one's choice.
