Kathryn Ann (Tyson) Baldwin Obituary
KATHRYN "KATHY" ANN BALDWIN, 74, of Maiden, NC, passed away of natural causes on Saturday, April 15, 2023, at 5:03 pm EST at the Hickory Village Memory Care Facility with her son, Richard, by her side. She was a former resident of Princeton, WV. She is survived by her son, Lt Col Richard Wayne Baldwin, USAF, 55, and his wife, Kimberly Ann Baldwin, 55, both of Twin Lakes, Wisconsin.
BIOGRAPHY: Kathy was born on July 7, 1948, in Monroe, NC. She spent her youth in the Monroe area until her graduation in 1966 from Sun Valley High School. Following graduation, she moved to the Maiden, NC area and later gave birth to her son, Richard, in 1967. In 1974, she moved to the west coast and lived in the Tucson, AZ area for several years. She returned to the east coast in 1978 settling in the small town of Princeton, WV, which is often referred to as the "Jewel of the South" due to its hometown quaintness and warm hospitality. She lived there for the next 20 years. In 2013, she returned to the area of her youth, Maiden, NC, where she lived out her remaining days.

I would like to thank my mother's social worker with the Catawba County Department of Social Services as well for her oversight of my mother's well-being. My sincere appreciation and gratitude goes out to the Center View Baptist Church of Maiden, NC as well for providing my mother's final resting place. And a final thank you goes out to Bass-Smith Funeral home for assisting me in carrying out my mother's final wishes. You have my eternal gratitude. Thank you all so much.
INTERNMENT: Prior to Kathy's passing, she requested that her son, Richard, oversee and carry out her final wishes which she had drawn up in 2014 prior to the advancement of her illness. She requested no formal ceremony, no viewing, no gathering, no graveside service, and no wake. She asked only for a simple, private burial and to be laid to rest quietly among the dogwood trees and pine trees of the Center View Baptist Church Cemetery located at 3993 East Maiden Road, Maiden, NC 28650.
