He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Joseph E. Baker and Melba Wicker Baker; his wife Amber Buff Baker; his daughters, Buffie Eller (Larry) of Lincolnton and Ginger Hall (Brian) of Granite Falls; and his grandchildren, Jasmine Hall and Harrison Eller.

Visitation was held on Sunday, February 2nd 2025 from 3:00 PM to 3:45 PM at the Asbury Methodist Church (3097 Asbury Church Rd, Lincolnton, NC 28092). A funeral service was held on Sunday, February 2nd 2025 at 4:00 PM at the same location.
