He was predeceased by: his parents, Diana Marie Franz and James Nelson Hall. He is survived by: his wife Lou Ann Talbert Franz; his children, Joseph Eugene Franz II (Krystal) of Gastonia, Cody Reese Beal of Maiden, Renee Ann Beal of Maiden and Shirley Denise Smith (Dusty) of Casar; and his grandchildren, Joseph Eugene Franz III, Jonah Elias Franz, Dalton Owen Whitworth, Autumn Rachelle Whitworth, Mason Christopher Whitworth, Lonna Allie Paige Smith and Kinsley Mashay Smith.
Visitation was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 4:45 PM at the Redeemed Baptist Church (1525 Riverview Rd, Lincolnton, NC 28092). A memorial service was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 at 5:00 PM at the same location.
