It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Joe Dayton Whitener of Maiden, North Carolina, who passed away on March 20, 2023, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.

He was predeceased by: his father Joseph Claude; and his siblings, Bobbie Whisenant and William R. Whitener. He is survived by: his siblings, Jack Whitener of Claremont, Elizabeth Connor of Claremont and Becky Ramsey of Conover. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church Maiden, 50 East Main St, PO Box 338, Maiden, NC 28650.
