He is survived by: his wife Diane Resto Aponte; his sons, Gilberto Aponte, Jr. of Jacksonville, Fla, David Michael Aponte of Magnolia, Timothy Aponte of Orlando, Fla and John Aponte of Magnolia; his siblings, Nerida Aponte, Ida Aponte and Luis Aponte; and his friend Gilberto. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
