He was predeceased by: his parents, James Alvin Powell and Lela Tucker Powell; and his sister Sherry Powell Weaver. He is survived by: his sons, Justin Powell (Rachael) of Wallace, NC and Ryan Powell (Jenna) of Winston Salem, NC; his grandchildren, Jackson, Allie, Bryson, Tucker and Phoebe Powell; his nephew Matthew Stokely (Anne) of Wilmington; and his brother-in-law Dr. Edward Weaver of Wilmington.
