He is survived by: his children, Donald Ray Stokes, Jr. (DJ) and Ruthie Stokes (Baby); the mother of his children Dr. Marjorie Scriven of Durham, NC; his daughters, Charnita Scarborough (Christopher) of Wallace, NC and Catherine Gwinn of Durham, NC; and his siblings, Elouise Jacobs (Waycross Community) of Magnolia, Maxine Stokes of Raleigh, Norma Stokes of Raleigh, Dr. Velma Stokes Burden (Waycross Community) of Magnolia, NC, Willie Stokes (Dee) of Onalaska, WI and Larry Stokes (Waycross Community) of Magnolia, NC. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
