It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Phyllis Childers of Maggie Valley, North Carolina, born in West Jefferson, North Carolina, who passed away on March 8, 2021, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Clara Parsons and Ray Von Younce; her adoptive father James Harvey Blevins; her husband Charles Childers; her granddaughter Shelly Hart Teague (Joshlyn Teague) of Waynesville; her great grandchildren, Austin, Maddie and Jonas Teague; her granddaughter Shanna Hart of Cherokee; her great grandchild Makenzie Hart of Waynesville; her stepdaughters, Paulette Childers of Lake Junaluska and Debbie Childers Bryant of Greenville, SC; her stepgranddaughter Elisha Bryant Leonard (Chris Leonard) of Greenville, SC; her stepgreat-grandsons, Brandon, Jeremy and Daniel Leonard; and her close friend Solace.
In honor of Jazz, her rescue kitty and devoted companion, Phyllis requested donations to Sarge's Animal Rescue Foundation: PO Box 854, Waynesville, NC 28786.
