He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Michael Montgomery of Albemarle, NC and Elizabeth Montgomery; his nephew Christopher Watson; his mother-in-law Betty Jean Powell; his wife Sharon Powell Montgomery; his daughters, Kaylee Montgomery (Brandon) and Aleea Montgomery (Chance); his godchildren, Emma Campbell, Sidney Roy and Zach Beutell; his sisters, Kim Farlow (Robert) of Albemarle, NC and Teresa Watson (Jimmy) of Cherry Grove, SC; his sister-in-law Patsy Davis (Lee); his father-in-law Rev. Jim Ed Powell; his nieces, Jade Kluttz (Sean) of Maine and Regan Watson of Concord, NC; his nephew Kyle Dowling (Mandie) of Cullowhee, NC; and his great-nephews, Brody and Tucker Dowling.
In lieu of flowers, a college fund for his daughters has been set up at the State Employees Credit Union in Sylva.
