He was predeceased by: his parents, Dock Ted Whitted, Jr. and Iris Mildred Nix Whitted. He is survived by: his wife Vera Chastain Whitted; his sons, Wes Whitted (Sue Hilliard) of Waynesville and Luke Penny of Cullowhee; his brother Michael Whitted (Anita Kaplan) of Wilton, Connecticut; and his grandchildren, Cole Williams, Eli Penny, Braden Williams, Emerson Burch and Parker Burch.
