She was predeceased by: her parents, William Fountain Nix, Sr. and Zadie McJunkin Nix; her husband Dock Ted Whitted, Jr.; her siblings, W. F. "Bill" Nix, Jr., Vera Brown, Sarah Hipps, Auline Wiggins and Rena Whitted; her sister-in-law Maryjo Elmore; and her great grandchildren, Caleb and Samuel Pierce.
She is survived by: her sons, Steven Michael Whitted (Anita Kaplan) of Wilton, Connecticut and Paul Douglas Whitted (Vera) of Maggie Valley; her sister-in-law Pat Nix; her grandchildren, Chris Whitted (Heather Estes), Ashleigh Pierce (Brit), Wes Whitted (Sue Hillard), Shannon Burch (Patrick), Pamela Williams (Brad) and Luke Penny; her great grandchildren, Ansley Pierce, Cole Williams, Eli Penny, Braden Williams, Emerson and Parker Burch; and her niece Martha Elmore.
