He was predeceased by: his parents, George Caldwell and Blye Caldwell; his wife Joan DeLaHaye Caldwell; and his siblings, Junior Caldwell, Louise Edwards and Mildred Crawford.

He is survived by: his children, Susan Cryan and James Michael Caldwell; his grandchildren, Nathaniel Slade Cryan and Jessica Burgess; and his great grandchildren, Liam Nathaniel Cryan, Jacob and Justin Burgess.
