He was predeceased by: his parents, Dewey M. Carver and Mary Reagan Carver; his sister Martha Carver; and his son-in-law Ronald "Ronnie" Boynton. He is survived by: his wife Phyllis Carver; his children, Iris Silvers (James) of Waynesville, Melody Perry (Mark) of Clyde, Douglas Wayne Carver, Jr. (Mikel) of Fines Creek and Timothy Carver (Tanya) of Waynesville; his siblings, Starlene Wolfe (Jeff) of Dobson, NC, Charles Carver (Lynn) of Waynesville, Mike Carver (Linda) of Waynesville, Dewey "Butch" Carver of California and Jimmy Darrell Carver (Bonnie) of Canton, Georgia; his grandchildren, James Isaac Silvers, Meghan Boynton, Cline Carver, Savannah Boynton, Aiden Carver and William Sutton; and his stepgrandchildren, Kendall and Collin Warner.
