He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Thompson and Ollie Thompson; his wife Stacie Goins Thompson; his son Bobby Thompson; and his sister Louise Knight.
He is survived by: his children, Steve Thompson (Kisha) and Melissa Thompson Shreve (Tommy); his grandsons, Justin Shreve (Olivia), Joshua Shreve (Rebecca Daughton) and Ethan Evans (Rebecca); his great grandchildren, Reilly Shreve and Remmington Shreve; his sisters, Jean Fagg (Charles) and Janet Koffman; and his brother-in-law Elroy Southard. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Saturday, April 12th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Colonial Funeral Home (127 Ellisboro Rd, Madison, NC 27025). A funeral service was held on Sunday, April 13th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Sunday, April 13th 2025 at the Mayodan Municipal Cemetery.
