It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Reese Martin of Madison, North Carolina, who passed away on November 23, 2024, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, John Martin and Mabel Martin; her son Vaughntino Verlane Hayes; and her grandchildren, Javis Omar Hayes and Candance Mitchell.
She is survived by: her children, Stephen Hayes (Kim), Fatima Rhymes (Harvey) and Portia Hayes; and her siblings, John Lynn (Lynn), Curtis Martin (Kathy), Carolyn Martin, Tanya Martin and Laura Martin. She is also survived by great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation was held on Friday, November 29th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 7:30 PM at the Perry - Spencer Funeral Home (402 Short Ave, Madison, NC 27025). A reception was held on Saturday, November 30th 2024 from 12:30 PM to 1:00 PM and at 1:00 PM.
