He is survived by: his wife Linda Wilson Thornton; his children, James Thornton (Belinda), Deborah Tilley (James, Jr.), Gerald Thornton, Jr. (Stacey) and Angela Heath (Jeff); his grandchildren, Aleise Thornton, Hayden Thornton, Kooper Thornton, James Thornton, Jr. (Zoe), Bryce Heath and Mason Heath; and his great grandchild Charlotte Paige Thornton.
